My Love Affair with Chocolate

Food may be the way to a man’s heart, but if that is true, then chocolate is certainly the way to a woman’s heart.

As a little girl I was a really picky eater, but I swear, I was born with a love of chocolate. There was a point in time when my mother banned me from wearing white because I stained every white shirt I had with chocolate ice cream! Since then, my obsession has only grown. Valrhona, Scharffen Berger, Neuhaus… I could eat my way around the globe on chocolate alone!

What’s not to love? It’s rich and creamy and pairs with fruits, nuts, spices, just about anything. It’s a natural aphrodisiac, and now that we know that chocolate is full of antioxidants, it takes a bit of the guilt out of indulging every now and then!

This Chocolate Orange Cake with Grand Marnier made with bittersweet chocolate is really indulgent and rich. Serve it with a spoonful of unsweetened whipped cream to contrast the sweet glaze.
