Scone Clone

Actually…these aren’t a clone of the traditional, gluten-laden variety. They’re better.

Oh, so much better!

Although I understand why other people tend to leave out flour blends from their gluten-free recipes, I simply can’t resist the Bob’s Red Mill All-Purpose Gluten-Free Flour sometimes. It’s super easy to find, it’s fairly inexpensive, and when combined with one or two other flours, it can be delicious. Like here. Like these better-than-gluten, beautiful, tender, Buttermilk Ham and Cheese Scones!

Of course, hunks of gruyere and ham don’t hurt, but this recipe would work quite well with anything you wanted to add: dried blueberries and lemon zest, candied ginger and fresh thyme, cinnamon and chocolate chips…

Do I need to tempt you anymore? I bet you have all the ingredients in your kitchen right now (add a tablespoon of white vinegar to some milk if you don’t have the buttermilk!)

Ready, set, go!
