Ingredients

  • 1 loaf gluten-free sliced bread or baguette
  • ½ cup salted butter, softened if using unsalted butter, add ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced about 1 tbsp
  • 2 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • cup grated parmesan cheese optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400ºF.
  • In a small bowl, mix together all ingredients except the bread. Spread the mixture onto each side of the bread until all slices are coated. If using a baguette, slice lengthwise and spread along the inside.
  • Push the slices together and wrap the bread in tin foil. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until the garlic is cooked. Unwrap the bread and broil on high for 1-2 minutes until crisp. Keep an eye on it!
  • Remove from the oven and serve immediately. Enjoy with gluten-free pizza, pasta, and more!

Notes

  • Garlic: Fresh garlic is best, but in a pinch feel free to use pre-minced garlic.
  • To make cheesy garlic bread: Add ½ - 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese to the garlic butter mixture. Top with extra parmesan before serving.
  • Dairy-free or vegan? Use your favourite plant-based butter and omit the cheese.
  • Make ahead: Prepare the bread with garlic butter and wrap in tin foil. Place in the fridge for up to 2 days, then bake as directed.
  • Storage: Leftover baked garlic bread can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days. Re-crisp in the oven or air fryer at 400ºF for a few minutes.
  • Freezing: Prepare the bread with garlic butter and wrap in tin foil. Place in the freezer for up to 2 months, then bake the loaf as directed plus a few minutes. To reheat individual slices, bake at 400ºF for 10-15 minutes.
